Quick recap:
1. Worked 11 to 5 today; looked at our daily communication sheet (basically a newsletter) and saw my name on there twice, first for getting the most charge applications of anyone in the store yesterday (2 lol) and second for outstanding customer service (a customer mentioned my name in a survey).
2. I got a $5 gift certificate for my customer service award.
3. I got one of my coworkers, Shirley's hours for tomorrow: moneymoneymoneyMONAYYYY
4. I got all of the announcements for this year's Schiffhauer Family Picnic (which I am co-chairing with my cousin Cassie) printed up and sealed in their envelopes. This is the 20th annual, so we're doing some badass things for it....
5. BARACKFREAKINGOBAMA WON THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY NOM! Hillary is still in the race for the time being... she wants the veep position... it should be interesting to see what Barack does...
6. Now, I go watch some more Heroes.

Hillary doesn't even deserve to keep her Senate seat, let alone be Obama's running mate. Even though she and her delusional "Denver"-shouting supporters won't admit this is over, those of us living in reality can enjoy how awesome it is that Barack Obama is officially the Democratic party's nominee.
Official nominee he may be, but now McCain's gonna win the election.
Glad we picked the electable candidate...
Maybe so, but McCain has the now rigorous job of making up for lost time; he's done virtually nothing in the months he's had for a head start against the democrats.
In addition to that, I was watching CNN last night and they made what I found to be an apt observation: Obama helps bridge the gap in the Democratic party, whereas Hillary IS the gap - if the two could set aside their minute differences and unite, it would be a virtually unstoppable ticket.
Furthermore, Obama is set to redraw the electoral map altogether - states like Virginia which haven't gone democratic in decades are looking bluer and bluer everyday....
Anyway you slice it, you can't validly say that one or the other is going to win outright at this point, or even just after the polls close in November - this is a race that could be just as close as that in 2000.
The only way McCain will win is if Obama picks Hillary as his running mate, which, as Jimmy Carter recently said, would give us the worst of both worlds. Sorry, but all the recent polls show Obama more than capable of winning the Electoral College and popular vote. And this is after having all these attacks related to Rev. Wright, his patriotism, and his religion. If that's not enough to take Obama down, what can McCain do? Oh, and remember the last time the democrats chose the electable candidate? How did that work out for us?
